Autism Support Classroom

Optimum Inclusion

Douglas Community School has two autism classes. The physical classrooms have specific areas for individual learning, group work, social activities and a quiet space. The ACS classroom also contains a life- skills area where our students can gain valuable living skills.

We offer an Autism specific learning environment within our mainstream school. This educational setting facilitates optimum inclusion, where the student is part of our entire school community, supported in and having access to mainstream activities as appropriate.

Expertise & Resources

The expertise of our staff, supported by a wide variety of resources and equipment ensure stimulation and preparation for learning for our students.

We strive to provide a broad curriculum which focuses on the strengths and abilities of each student while supporting his areas of need.
