TY Art Class Explore Honan Chapel and Cork’s Street Art Scene 🎨

The TY Art class recently enjoyed a cultural and artistic day out beginning with a visit to the beautiful Honan Chapel at UCC. They were especially captivated by the stunning stained glass windows created by Ireland’s most renowned stained glass artist, Harry Clarke. The tour was made even more special thanks to our engaging and entertaining guide, past pupil JP Quinn, who generously shared stories from his time at DCS and gave the group a warm welcome.

Following this, students took part in the Ardú Street Art Tour, where they explored some of Cork’s most vibrant public artworks while listening to audio insights about each piece.

This exposure to both historical and contemporary art forms will no doubt enrich their practical and written work as they prepare for their Leaving Certificate Art studies.
