Senior Cycle Art Trip

Recently our Senior Cycle Art students, after an early start, set off on their biennial trip to Newgrange and the National Museum and Gallery in Dublin. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, blessed with sunshine and great company.

Students had a rare opportunity to enter the 5,000 year old chamber at Newgrange and experience first-hand the symbolism and wonders of Neolithic life. A quick visit to the National Museum offered an up close look at Pre-Christian artefacts, pieces that students study as part of their Art History curriculum.

The day concluded with an inspiring exploration of the National Gallery of Ireland, where students sought out works by Monet, Picasso, Renoir, Yeats, Caravaggio and other masters.

A huge thank you to Ms. Millard and Ms. Quin for organizing and accompanying the students and to our wonderful students whose engagement and exemplary behaviour throughout the day made us very proud.
