Record 25 Speakers For DCS First Year Public Speaking Competition
Our First Year students took to the stage this week for a powerful Public Speaking Competition centered on wellbeing, with over 25 speakers stepping up to the microphone to share their insights on everything from the great uniform debate to the vital role of sports in our lives. There was a fantastic atmosphere as students explored the importance of friendship, the idea that failing is often the first step to success, whether school uniforms are boring or brilliant and the power of sport in our daily lives.
After some incredible performances, a huge congratulations goes to our winner Alex Hogan, followed by Sam Brennan in second place and Harry Thompson in third. We would like to extend a special thank you to our key adjudicator, John O’Connell, for his expertise and for the difficult task of judging such a talented field. Well done to everyone who found the courage to stand up and be heard today!
