High Standard At First Year Public Speaking Competition

The First Year Wellbeing Public Speaking Competition took place last Friday morning. This annual event saw first years prepare and deliver a speech on aspects of wellbeing in front of their peers.  Let’s Talk about School Uniform, Homework is a Waste of Time, School Days are the Best Days and We all have Mental Health were just some of the topics up for discussion.

Adjudicated by Ms McMahon who was ably assisted by senior debaters, Josh Healy and Krish Kopal, the event provided much thought for Principal Pat Barry who was also in attendance. The adjudicators commented on the high standard of research and expression of all who participated. First prize went to Aidhen Abhilash, second to Luke Barry and third to Conor Twomey. Well done to all involved.
