Volleyball

Our school has recently celebrated outstanding success in volleyball, with the Senior Team securing three national titles in last couple of years. They achieved back-to-back championship victories in both the A and B leagues.

Building on their league success, the Senior Team went on to compete in the prestigious Senior School Cup in 2025. In a standout performance against CMM Galway, they demonstrated the skill and determination that have made them National Champions, securing the School Cup title in style. Remarkably, this level of achievement comes in only the third year of the team's participation in the competition - a testament to their hard work, talent, and commitment.

Inspired by the Senior Team’s achievements, student interest in volleyball has grown significantly, leading to the formation of a Junior Team. For many of these students, it was their first introduction to the sport, yet they quickly made impressive strides. This season, the Junior Team reached the Shield Final at the University of Limerick - an exceptional accomplishment for such a newly formed group. Although they narrowly missed out on the title, their enthusiasm and rapid development point to a bright future for volleyball at our school.

Both Junior and Senior teams have large squads with all abilities from novice to more experienced players. 6th year students James Irwin and Pierce Mc Farlane went on to represent Ireland.
