Student Leadership Team Supporting All DCS Students

The Student Leadership Team is continuing with its ‘Meitheal Fir Programme’ supporting our first-year cohort. Sixth Year Leadership Team members meet regularly with first-year students in an informal setting during break times. Their focus is to offer support and answer any questions students may have about life in DCS. The Leaving Certificate students model best practice and demonstrate what it means to be a positive role model in DCS. It is wonderful to see the relationships developing between the first years and the Sixth year students.

This year the Student Leadership Team introduced a new initiative. They felt they had built up a wealth of knowledge on exam preparation in DCS based on the hints and tips they have learned over their six years in the school. Each leadership team member was paired with one of the five First Year classes and together they compiled a ‘Strategic Study Tips Guide’ during a working lunchtime. They focused on what they believed to be the most effective exam preparation practices. Each member then met with their assigned class and presented the Strategic Study Plan. The Leadership team also provided a copy to every student. The Sixth Year students gave a very comprehensive presentation on the use of Studyclix . They showed the first year students how best to use studyclix for exam preparation. Studyclix has been kindly provided by management for all students in DCS for this academic year.

The Student Leadership Team continues to empower students across the school.
