Packed Programme Of Events For Science Week 🔬🧑🔬
From the 10th to the 16th of November our school celebrated Science Week 2025 with a packed programme of events designed to spark curiosity and encourage students to explore the world of STEM. Across the week students of all year groups had opportunities to enjoy a hands on experience of science.
On Thursday three of our 6th year students represented the school at the ISTA Senior Science Quiz in UCC. They performed brilliantly and achieved an excellent score but ultimately narrowly missed out on a spot in the final. We are very proud of their effort and enthusiasm.
In school, 3rd year students took part in a junior science table quiz where they tested their knowledge across the sciences in a fun and competitive atmosphere. Junior science classes also enjoyed themed activities throughout the week, including science Kahoots and dingbats.
A major highlight for many was Thursday’s lunchtime organ dissections. Students had the opportunity to observe and handle real organs—including hearts, tripe, liver, and kidneys—offering a unique insight into anatomy and physiology.
Science Week 2025 was a wonderful success, with excellent participation from students across the school. A big thank you to all staff and students who organised, supported, and took part in the events. We’re already looking forward to Science Week 2026!
