Gaisce Awards 2026

This year, students in both Transition Year and 5th Year embraced the challenge of the Gaisce Awards, showing resilience, independence and commitment throughout the programme.

Our Transition Year students completed their Bronze Gaisce Award that included a 25km Adventure Journey across the Castledonovan Loop and Mullaghmesha, with an overnight stay at Top of the Rock. Our 5th Year students completed their Silver Gaisce Award with an Adventure Journey to Killarney, taking in Torc Mountain, Killarney National Park and the town itself.

In total, 30 students successfully completed their Gaisce Awards this year, with many more students close to finishing their remaining sections. This is a fantastic achievement and a credit to the hard work and determination shown by all involved.

A sincere thank you to David and Elizabeth at Top of the Rock and to all at Muckross Venture Centre for their hospitality. Thank you also to Mr Davis, Ms O’Reilly and Mr Hayes for their support and guidance throughout the students’ Gaisce journeys. Well done to all students involved.
