Exploring Gougane Barra

Our annual journey to Gougane took place this week. The wet weather on the first day did nothing to dampen the spirits of the 1st Year students and the 5th Year mentors.

The walking prayer and reflection, which took place on the island in Gougane, was a time when students gave thanks for all those who care for them. The candle lit oratory was the ideal setting for the students to focus on their hopes for their time in Douglas Community School.

The second day brought sunshine and the hill walk allowed spectacular views for the students. A good time was had by all. Thanks to Ms Barry Murphy for organising such a worthwhile trip.
