DCS Welcomes The Lord Mayor Of Cork, Cllr Damian Boylan

The staff and students were delighted to continue a long standing tradition of welcoming the Lord Mayor of Cork to address the school. Cllr Boylan delivered a thought provoking message to be “Sound” and to spread happiness and effect change by being sound. Fielding a series of excellent questions from the students the Lord Mayor explained how he came to devote his life to public service. He explained his passion for sport and in particular how much he enjoys watching Cork City FC. The Lord Mayor left us with a gift of a bookmark promoting the message of Soundness for each student.
