A Day to Remember For Yr6 Geography Field Trip
The DCS Leaving Cert Geography class took a trip to Garryvoe to conduct the field work element of the course. The study this year looked at how the geomorphic processes of erosion has helped to shape one coastal landform. The sun started to shine just as we arrived at the beautiful Rocky Bay. The students measured the height of cliffs, conducted experiments to measuring wave counts and wave refraction, and as the tide was out, even managed to explore a number of caves and rock pools.
This study and the write up will account for up to 20% of the students final grade. Everyone had a great day applying their classroom knowledge to the real world. A day to remember!
