Douglas Community School Athletics
Home of Champions
DCS is home to many national champions across several distances both in cross country and track and field. The athletics program is also internationally renowned, having multiple Irish international representatives at both junior and senior level and also competing at the World Schools Cross Country Championships on occasion. In 2024, Leo Murray was part of the Irish Intermediate Boys Team who took the bronze in the SIAB Cross Country Championship in Liverpool. In 2025, Ben O’Reilly represented Ireland at the SIAB playing a key role in helping the Irish team secure an impressive silver medal.

Many of our past pupils have won athletic scholarships and have followed careers in Athletics. Former DCS athletics coach and past pupil, Steve Macklin, is now Head Endurance Coach @ Aspire Academy in Quatar.
