Open Day

Open Day for parents and prospective pupils from 6.30 p.m. to 9.00 p.m.

Principal’s address will be at 7.30 p.m.

Application Forms will be distributed through the local Primary Schools, and will also be available from the School Office.

Friday, 10^th October 2008

Closing date for receipt of applications.

Friday, 17^th October 2008

Offers of places

Priority will be given to those who meet the following criteria:

* Pupils who are committed to coming to Douglas Community School as their school of choice.

* Pupils from national schools in the area.

* Pupils who live in the immediate vicinity of the school and who have not attended national schools in the area.

* Brothers of pupils or former pupils of this school.

* Sons of former pupils.

Waiting list

A waiting list of those not offered places and for late applications will be established at this stage.

Closing date for receipt of acceptance of place.

Saturday, 7^th February 2009

Assessment, Stage 1

Objective Assessment and Reading Tests for those who have been offered places and those who are on the waiting list.

To be arranged

Assessment, Stage 2

Irish, English and Mathematics tests at sixth class standard. These tests will be necessary only where results of standardised test conducted by the Primary School are not available. You will be contacted where necessary.
