MODULES

Three week taster modules in the fololowing option subjects for Leaving Certificate, before the students choose the subjects in which they wish to specialise:

  • Construction Studies
  • Engineering
  • Technical Drawing

Additional seven/eight week modules, each module being allotted
three classes per week. Each student will take four of these:

  • Film Making
  • Food Safety
  • Furniture Making
  • FAI Coaching
  • Art and Craft
  • Horticulture
  • Mini-company
  • Log On Learn Computers for Older People

COMMUNITY SERVICE is done for one morning per week for half of the
school year.

WORK EXPERIENCE is done on a two-week block release system.

THEATRE PERFORMANCE

The Transition Year puts on a show each year, which involves all of the students in one of the areas of activity: acting, dancing, singing/music, set design and construction, publicity and front-of-house.

In the second half of the year, the students run workshops in various activities, for groups of children who come into the school from neighbouring primary schools.
