Douglas Community School athletes traveled to Banna beach Co. Kerry for a three-day training camp during the midterm break and the 45 strong group had a great time. The weather proved to be marvelous with blue skies and sunshine each day. All the athletes trained well under the guidance of coach Steven Macklin, taking in some easy running, a workout in the sand dunes, some core work and some swimming.
A special thanks to all the athletes on their good behavior over the three days. They now focus their attention on the Ras Na hEireann International Cross-Country event in Co. Louth on February 24th and the All-Ireland Schools Cross-Country championships taking place in Galway on March 8th.
