Marvellous Win for U16 Rugby Team

Douglas vs Ballincollig

The Douglas Community School Under 16 Rugby Team got off to a great
start against Ballincollig last Thursday when Alan Walsh got a try in
the first minute, and it was converted by Fionn Cronin. However thanks to constant pressure from Ballincollig they managed to get one back twenty minutes in, but they failed to convert it.

Ballincollig then took the lead on the stroke of half time thanks to a well worked move. It took just two minutes for substitute Simon Hannon to regain the lead for Douglas when he picked up the ball in his own half and ran the entire pitch to score. Fionn again converted.

It was most unfortunate when Thomas Goulding broke his collar bone after a fantastic challenge ten minutes from time. With five minutes left Emmet Coleman put the icing on the cake with a well
worked try. Again Fionn converted. The game ended 21-10.
