Marvellous Win for U16 Rugby Team
Douglas vs Ballincollig
The Douglas Community School Under 16 Rugby Team got off to a great
start against Ballincollig last Thursday when Alan Walsh got a try in
the first minute, and it was converted by Fionn Cronin. However thanks to constant pressure from Ballincollig they managed to get one back twenty minutes in, but they failed to convert it.
Ballincollig then took the lead on the stroke of half time thanks to a well worked move. It took just two minutes for substitute Simon Hannon to regain the lead for Douglas when he picked up the ball in his own half and ran the entire pitch to score. Fionn again converted.
It was most unfortunate when Thomas Goulding broke his collar bone after a fantastic challenge ten minutes from time. With five minutes left Emmet Coleman put the icing on the cake with a well
worked try. Again Fionn converted. The game ended 21-10.

U14 Football Douglas v. Carrignavar
Another Win For The Douglas Community School U14 Gaelic Football Team
The under 14s stormed to another great win last Friday when they beat
Carraignavar. It proved to be an easy victory in the end even though they
had a few early scares when Carraignavar’s full forward scored two early
goals.
Peter Milan and others made sure of the result before half time.
It was a very one sided game in the second half and good performances from
Paul Beale and Stephen Murphy in particular made sure that there wasn't
going to be a surprise comeback.
It’s looking good for the under 14s so far with three wins out of three
but the crunch game against St. Aidan’s is still to come. They still have
got work to do but if they keep their performances up, they will definitely
have a great chance of bringing the title back to Douglas.

Practical Science in Douglas Community School!
In April of this year two rabbits were bought by Mr O’Mahony. The two
rabbit’s names are *Einstein* who is male and *Pythagoras* who is female.
Third year students took turns minding them during the summer. In September
it was discovered that Pythagoras was pregnant. Rabbits are pregnant for
thirty two days and this period is called gestation.
The rabbit had seven babies. One died and the others are alive and well. There was one white
rabbit, two black rabbits and three grey rabbits. Peter O’Sullivan in first
year is minding Einstein at the moment. Mr Gould and fourth years made an
area for them and they now live in the prefabs.
Aaron Hererra is pictured with two of the rabbits.
